Thousands of ducks race to benefit CHIP



This year's Chesapeake Rubber Duck Race featured food, games, and some friendly competition. The main event on race day was the race itself where one lucky winner received the keys to a 2010 Nissan Versa. Proceeds from the event benefit CHIP


Chesapeake City Council members Lonnie Craig and Ella Ward attended the Sponsor Reception to show their support.

Buddy Smith and Michele Partridge Lane of Russell's Heating and Cooling enjoyed the opportunity to socialize at the reception.

Newlyweds Jim and Jennifer O'Sullivan were on hand for the Sponsor Reception.

Elizabeth Dixon of CHIP and William Doxey enjoyed the relaxation of the reception before all of the hard work to come in preparation for the big event.

Meteorologist Patrick Rocky entertained the children with a story.

DJ R. David Hall of Coastal Karaoke provided musical entertainment and served as MC for the competitions.

Kenya the Klown entertained and made balloon animals for the children.

Team 45 Degrees made a valiant effort against some pretty tough-to-beat teams.

The team from Russell's Heating and Cooling showed their strength.

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center CEO Wynn Dixon played referee for the tug-of-war matches.

Team Huge Mistake worked hard to bring down the guys from the Sheriff's Office.

The first place trophy in the tug-of-war competition went to team CSO.
